    Red Bull Air races.

Any one watching that on the box. Saw it the other day and was rather interested in the airplans. Any one know if you can buy them in kit form pref in 1/48. Does anyone know what they are even?

    I found this.

Plane Types :: Red Bull Air Race Articles

    and

Aerobatic aircraft of the Red Bull Air Race World Series

I've never seen a model of either type which seems odd as you'd think people would want them.

    Cheers

These two are used quite a lot. The trouble is that there are a number of planes used but basically they all look the same! I can't remember the names of any of the others.

This is an interesting read as well:

I think the links above tell you quite a bit more though.

As for a model I've not seen one yet.

Hi ian , the planes are wicked looking arent they, as mentioned above there are a few that have been, are still, used (extra 300 ,edge540) as well as these ,sukhoi su 26 and 31's have been used but as far as i know no one makes a mainstream kit of any of them. If racers in general tickle your fancy then you can get some great kits of older racers ,revell did a double kit of a mustang and t6 texan in reno racer markings in 1/48 ( guess whos got one in the stash? hehe!!) and the williams brothers 1/32 1930's racers are lovely if you can get hold of them (again , guess whos got several in the stash!!) cheers tony

There are plenty of electric RC ones around so maybe with a bit of scratch building you could make a pretty respectable static model.
