    Sherman M4 , tamiya 1/35

2nd tank now done , tamiya`s 1/35 Sherman M4 straight from the box , being an early tamiya I did not use the tank figures as like the Matilda ones they were poor , apart from that quite an easy build , went a bit heavy with the weathering but another great learning curve ,

Nice work there chap! I don't think the weathering is inappropriately heavy, it just looks like it's been about a bit, that's all! The base looks like something from Fields of Glory? Right ball park?

Yep that is one very nice and very dusty Sherman. Looks great to me, you're getting a dab hand at the heavy stuff Rich ;-)

Cheers guys , Tony - Stuart is spot on its a FoG plaster base off ebay, got it a long time ago and very cheap , what you see is not a snow base just bare plaster as it comes I used it for the photo`s as its white, for a dio base it will need a bit of work to make the tank tracks sit true , although not Verlinden or MIG quality with a little work can look ok , my GB Russian sniper vignette base was from FoG and came out ok , if your on a budget then great value

Tony , as I`ve said I`ve had this base for a long time (its good for photo`s) , I now make my own bases out of 6mm MDF and ready mixed tile adhesive , this way you can make bases to the correct size you want and to what ever ground work you want tbh its no different to making another model , get yourself down to your local B&Q get some mdf off cuts and the cheapest tile adhesive , £10 max and you will have enough dio bases to make 10 plus dio`s , trust me it works

                          Hi Richy

The weathering is cool, I've seen period photographs of Shermans that make your's look like it's just come out of the show room!

                          Another top notch armour model.
