    Social Networking

I know this has been mentioned before but please bear with me on this one.

Do you Tweet on Twitter, Blog on Blogger, Face on Facebook(?) or any other similar systems?

I am aware that twitter et al are not the most sensible of tools and Facebook, yes I am on both mostly leaves me cold simply because I really do not care about how someone I rarely ever speak to's Farm is going in Farmvile.

However, posting on this forum is a form of social networking but aimed specifically around our modelling. I also am aware that there is some Twitter activity generated by the clicking of certain buttons on the forum that will send stuff like links to Twitter and, if you follow Scale Models on Twitter, you get a heads up occasionally about these things.

I know that Facebook is a Marmite thing, you either love it or hate it, but I for one would be more than happy to see some of my friends on here as friends on there to, if only to make it worth scrolling through the dross to find intelligent conversation or comment (OK, that may be pushing it I know)

So what about it guys? How about the odd 'social' tweet or whatever every now and again, you never know, you may enjoy the conversation.....

Facebook is one of those things that can get irritatingly addictive I think.

I've avoided it like the plague, (just like i've avoided cliche's too) as I don't see a strong reason to have it, all the of the friends I have met through the years i'm in touch with anyway, the ones from school, college, previous jobs and places i'm not in touch with, well, theres a reason.

I can only think of one instance of losing touch with someone once where something like facebook might be useful.

That said, it is useful, my wife uses it and it's very handy in promotion of her business, website and shop.

I have just recently gotten an invitation to join fom a friend in the US, the reson being it makes things easier for her updates, family pics and current events rather than e-mailing several people, I guess i'll eventually cave in and try it but we'l see, if I do i'll seek you out Graham.

    Cheers,

    Mike

I am on Facebook as Graham Thompson and, for some reason, come under the Leicester area. On twitter , same name but my Twitter User name is Paddygt. On Twitter, apart from Scale Models, I only follow my partner Kate, we do speak to each other occasionally. Stephen Fry and Julia Bradbury are the only other two I follow and I only have a couple of followers. You do not have to make it so that your 'friends' list would reach the moon and back, I block all followers I do not know, they are only spammers after all or huge friend list collectors.

Ah Face book: I must confess to facing! I have familiy in England and Aussie so i does make it easier to keep an eye on each other! Most of the time I just play those meaningless five minuet games. Good fun while waiting for the paint or glue to dry.

Feel free to look me up if you like Graham. Face book under my dubious name. Ian Muddle (make sure its the one in Denmark as there is also one in Aussie with the same name. No not in the family!)

I'm on Facebook but have blocked all the games so i don't get updates from all my friends playing them. I don't do Twiter as i don't see the point of knowing a persons every bowl movement. If you want to add me on Facebook then pm me for my name. Or even better we could set up a Facebook page for the forum and all join that. It would certainly be easier

Would make it easier to chat, with out having to set up a chat room on the forum.

My name is in my last post if you dare look me up Allyne!

Sounds a good idea to have a Facebook page for the forum.

I added something to the forum yesterday that tweets new threads and posts but it doesn't seem to be working, I will have a look in to it, and I setup a FB page ages ago but didn't do anything with it, you can find it here
