    Scale Model Friends on Facebook

You will have seen the new button that has appeared on the pages "Find us on Facebook". Well, I know that not a lot of you guys on here are great fans of Facebook and I know that a lot of you feel that enough time is spent on the computer already, taking up far too much modelling time. Trust me, I know all about that lol.

However Scale Models friends is not so much about the modelling, that is what the forum is for and nothing will take away from that. Scale Model Friends is a place to socialise and really get to know each other away from the workbench, think of it as the Bar of the Club (not sure how we are going to get the beer working yet though).

If you are already on Facebook, it is simple to join and take part. If not you can create an account just for access to the 'Bar' and never be troubled by anyone else. So think about it, the worst that could happen is that you get to see some really embarrassing photos of me...., well OK that is pretty bad....

Also, there is a good chance that by making it a popular group, we are promoting this wonderful forum and bringing more people into the hobby, that can't be all bad eh?

I've never been that keen on FB never really did much on it just played a few games and have loads of "friends" I don't even know, I don't play the games now and the "friends" that came with the games will be going as well, but I do like the idea of the new scale-models group getting to know people on a more personal level and then coming back here to talk about what got us togeahter in the first place.

Yeah, facebook is fun, i went through the stage of having god knows how many "friends" on it, but in reality only kept in touch with a few...so i just had a clean up and binned all the ones that i did not keep in touch with. Facebook is somewhat more relaxed and laid back, not so formal i guess, like Graham has said a bit like a Bar to hang out in without the cost of a pint !!

Will be good to use it for talking about everything else as well as modelling. Look forward to seeing others on there, regards Martin :-)
