If you want the easiest to put together go for a Tamiya, if you want something cheaper and that bit more work to get it looking OK go for an Airfix.

Tamiya will give you a better chance of good results

Looks like the tamiya kit is the way forward then, if i go for a spitfire what mark would have been used in BoB? sorry for the newbie questions.

How about we make it more interesting and EVERYONE taking part build a re-release Airfix 1/72 bagged spit? (A la James Mays toy stories), some of us built em way back, (it was the first proper kit my dad bought for me to build myself) and others will never even have seen one.

But I think it'd make for an interesting comparison as the build rules could be open, i.e. Scratch build as many bits as you like, modify any bits you see fit etc.

I'd be well up for that, I think the variety of finished models would be great to compare, and the best bit? it's only about a fiver!

          What do you think folks?

Whichever way it goes, i'm going for a trip down memory lane with an Airfix 1/72 Blue spit, I might even brush paint it if I can cope with the embarrasment of showing it.

Darren I'm not too up on this either and I'm sure I will be corrected if I'm wrong but the MKI worked most of the BoB, I can get you the same as I'm getting if you want, I'm sure with it being Tamiya the quality should be fine.

I don't think Spitfires went beyond the Mk I during the BOB.

Yep, if anyone wants a Tamiya 1:72 Spitfire give John a shout quick and he will be able to get them in for you.

Course, if you want a Hurricane like me, you are out in the cold, all alone, wandering in the wilderness

You're not Graham mate, try Academy's Hurricane. The same one i put the electric motor in "The Few", you'll love it. Very nice little kit to boot.

                  Have fun, John

Hi guys. Sounds like fun. What about the bombers though? Some great looking bombers used in the bob.

                    Cheers

                            Hi Graham,

Looks like you're not on your own after all! I just won this so it looks like I'm in.

I just need somebody - please! - to confirm that this version took part in the BoB

Yes the MK 1 hurri was used in the BoB. Never seen those tanks before though.

Judging by the responses to the Bob why dont we have that as a small GB till january and also have your idea of planning out the years worth of builds for next year. I dont see why not as lots of people are involved in this. Me included.

                                Cheers
