I think if you stick with a cheaper brand of washing up liquid you will be ok. Just avoid the ones with perfumes and "kind to hands".

When, or rather if, I wash a kit, I do it as the last thing before primer goes down and then handle it only where it will not affect the paint. Either that or I pop a latex glove on.

A good thing to use, I found is the soap used in the painting trade, No perfume, no conditioners, just a good grease removing soap.

ISO should be OK on your skin Laurie, as it is a rubbing alcohol but as you say you have that psoriasis I would check it first with your chemist or doctor. No point in tempting fate!

I always wash in a mix of strong original fairy and a cap of bleach, rinse, shake and hang to dry.always cleaning surfaces before painting as well with thinners.

Release agent i used as a tech was silicone also you get the hydrolic leaks that happen especially with multi core tools, Silicone is really hard to remove.also the polimers used contain there own oils to help them flow properly. God the stuff you remember .

Used sugar soap for cleaning paintwork & removing grease. It cleans off all dirt. It is really effective in the kitchen where grease is easily removed with Sugar soap.

Not a soap as we would normally use for washing. It comes in powder (you mix with water) or a liquid form which is diluted.

It is cheap & effective. Will try next time on a model. Great thing is it does not bubble up & rinses easily. Try it on your skirting & doors it returns the paint to a first class state without damaging the surface.
