You know what i'm talking about ! You go through old posts in which you see something interesting and makes very good reading and the poster had previously put up pictures but because the post is old he/she removes the picture from their picture account and all your left with is a big ''RED CROSS'' or ''PICTURE DELETED'' or ''DOESN'T EXSIST ANYMORE''

Why remove the pictures it ruins a post/s and after all if the interesting part of the post is no longer there whats the point of the thread and the site owner or Moderators should spend a bit of time and if there are any old posts with no pictures delete the entire thread because it has no use anymore.

Sometimes it's the image server that does it. If an account like photobucket etc etc isn't accessed for a set period of time then the account can be closed thus deleting the pics

I've got four P/B accounts and one account is full and haven't touched it for three years and all the pictures are still there and viewable.

Some people delete their images from P/B just to save on storage space and spoils it for everyone else.

I used 'ImageShack' from 1998 - 2001 and never used it since then but you still can view my old pictures.

All my photobucket images are still viewable. There has been a bit of a palaver with server issues recently and it's possible some stuff may have been lost in the ether.

        Cheers

I don't think people are deleting their pictures because after a set amount of time their post becomes locked for editing, and none of the pics have been lost in the server move, I would agree with Al in what he says, if you can find any of the offending threads let me know I will take a look at them.

I don't know what other members do but i myself never just look around at the first couple of pages of each section of the forum and don't bother with the rest of the site because there is alot of good reading and viewing but some are spoilt like the ones below [by the way i'm not picking at Barry even though it looks as if i am i'm not ! its just that there are alot of red X's on his posts]....

There is also the problem with linked images from places like PhotoBucket. You start out with just a few pictures that you share via either link or insert. After a while you have so many photos there it all gets to be a bit of a mess. What do you do; Make more Albums; Cars, boats, planes, tanks, pets, the neighbors wife, and then move the pictures from the big jumble and put them in the albums. Despite the normal warnings from photo bucket that moving a file will break all links you do it any way. The problem it you dont go to all the websites you have used PB on and change the link- Thus loads of "this picture is no longer avaliable!"

But yes its bl==dy anoyning at times!

I know photobucket had a 'glitch'on my account and some pictures wound up 'not assigned to an album'when I moved them back it messed up the link.

All those posts are fixed, apart from the last one which is a problem with photobucket and out of my control
