    Specialised subjects.

If anyone has any special subject that they would like to know more about please feel free to ask,it is impossible to include everything here on scale-models but there are some interesting subjects planned for the future to promote further interest and feedback. If there are subjects required sooner then I will be delighted to search my archives and articles and see what can be found, keep this in mind anyway for the future.

    Hi Onewing and others

Duncan sort of propted me to join this forum because of some of my Interests..though somehow I managed to mess up my Username ...

Ive created a resourcethread on The RC Groups site http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=448080 and I was wondering if you would like me to replicate it here.

I could just put up a link or I could adapt it to the Scale Models title of this site. Apart from Waterplanes, Airships and vintage/oldtimers models are also on my menue and I have been Known to reach into Boats and hovercafts.

Let me know what and how I can do something usefull.......and where I should put up any links.

    Regards Clive

Hi Clive and a very warm welcome to the scale models forum.

We tend to be informal and very friendly but we are in the process of amassing quite an amount of very usefull modelling resources. Have a look through the gallery and the tutorials and see if there is anything of interest there.

Also, of course, feel free to add your own experiences to help things along when you feel like it.

          Thanks for the welcomes

If its possible I would like to set up a Waterplanes and LTA/Airships reference section .....now I assume 1: that you chaps ..moderators don't mind links to other forums, 2: that I can edit pages that I transfer at a later date because time is limited and setting up that lot took a lot of time..which I don't have at the moment...but will get better when I get my kit cars sorted out at the moment its a ain:, not everything in them will be scale till then..is that OK??

 3: finding these things in forums is a pain unless a visitor can see something sraight away ..searching inside forums is something Ive found awkward........they seldom bother stopping to look...so where would be the best place in the structure to put them??

How about a site dedicated to Nose Art or special markings. Not only for aircraft but cars tanks etc.I know some can be a bit Risque but there has been and still is good examples out there.

              Clive,

We just need to run that past John before you do anything.

I am sure he will be more than happy to guide you in your endeavours and we would all certainly like to see what you have produced. The resources here are one of our strengths and the more widespread the better.

              Thanks for wanting to share.

AirshipsNflyingboats could you be a little more clear and specific as to what is required please ? to assist the forum consists of different sections split up ie Aircraft, boats, cars etc within those sections are covered a multiple of different subjects ie sub sections, once these are posted they go into the archive which can be accessed at any time, the forum works very much the same as others ie entering information into a search engine brings up direct links to anything that we have covered here,it is a very powerful tool that leads researchers anywhere.

Can I suggest that you start a thread in a respective section a bit at a time, gradually building up the subject/subjects,this way you can always go make to make ammendments should you require, from personal experience this is the best way to build onto any web site in a building block principle.

We are prepared to accept anything that is practical to the workings of the forum.

***Once again Pogo, this could easily be incorporated as a sub section thread under say'Aircraft ' then post the thread as 'Nose Art' if you wish to start one with any material that you have at present, then feel free. The danger is starting too many sections as standalones that never get used,we had this happen in the past with model rocketry.

How about a site dedicated to Nose Art or special markings. Not only for aircraft but cars tanks etc.I know some can be a bit Risque but there has been and still is good examples out there.

wheres it too? - Ok I could set it up in aircraft thats logical but you also have a section entitled Useful web sites/links further up the front end, thats why I asked for a location......am I ok to set up a waterplanes plans and links thread?.....Maybee call it Flyingboats and Seaplanes....searchers enter those more often than waterplanes.......I hate most search engines.....something to do with being mildly dyslexic:shhhh:and they assume you know what something is called which isnt always true.

AirshipsNflyingboats,go to the section marked 'Planes' and start a new thread labelled 'Flying Boats and Seaplanes' when you need to add to it just raise the respective thread and place anything in that thread that you want to discuss, much the same as here,Google will automatically pick up the words 'seaplanes','flying boats' or whatever no problem and lead people here, once you start the thread it will gow into a useful resource.Regarding the link this can be easily placed into the one marked web sites etc if you so wish.
