I always know when the first day of winter has arrived, the boss has started a new job, the diggers can't get access so the footings all have to be done by hand, bring on the wind, rain and hail just to help things along:sadcry:Comment

If it wasn't for the bloody frogs kicking off, and their lightning strikes, me and Mrs. R would be going south 'till the butter melts for £20 each return, courtesy of Mr. O'Leary....
Hey ho, life can be so tiresome at times!! lol
Seriously though, if any of you are lucky enough to be flying out over French air space whilst this kerfuffle is going on be sure to check with the airline re. cancellations / strikes. We shoulld have gone last week on a cheapo but didn't. The outward flight was fine but we heard there could be a strike on our return date and we would be stranded...There was, but we weren't!
So be warned folks.
Ron
P.S. Wot's with the little laughing guy on my post? I never ordered 'im!Comment

Here in Northern Germany it's now gone decidedly cold and getting us ready for another serious Winter. However I still cycle to work on my pushbike and laugh at all the cissies trying to scrape half an inch of frost from thier windscreens.Comment

Aaah! don't we love a chat about the weather. I've been in Bristol today and it's absolutely beautiful, not a cloud in the sky and quite pleasant in the sun. I wandered down to take a look at the S.S.Great Britain, what an amazing ship. I never knew they'd dragged her all the way back from the Falklands. No re-enactors but a school trip of excited nippers in period costume (sort of,did they wear tea towels in the mid nineteenth century?) all added to the fun.
Cheers
