    Not happy!!!!!

I placed a order with SB Models, all the items showed up in stock on there web site so i thought happy days i'll get it!! only to recieve an email saying that everything was out of stock most of which was Mk35 stuff and some Royal models.

Also bear in mind i placed an order with Netmerchants the same time and recieved my goodies 72hours later, i've been waiting 2 weeks now for my order so i thought to myself i will give them a call.

I spoke to Stuart and he told me it could be 6 weeks till i get my order and his excuse was "becuase they are French" i think this is shocking to conduct a buisness like this......

I had a simular problem with E-models and it took me 4 months to get my money back. I only hope this wont be the same!! the verdict is out there.:grumpy:

Like the man said they are french, so six weeks sounds about right.

AND remember that the shop can only send it if they have it. Minus browny points for saying it was in stock. Minus points for not contacting you to let you know.

Lets cross our fingers and hope.

When you talked to him on the phone did you say that you wish to cancell the order and ask for a refund?

Surely this is some sort of false advertising, saying they have stock of a particular item, taking your money then letting you know its not, then making it a pain in the butt to get your cash back. What does it matter what nationality the product is, business is business, they would want to sell their wares as quickly as anyone else and make money. Can you not get in contact with the company directly and cut out the middle man?

That's why live stock levels are so important. I have had similar experiences in the past and only once has a trader had the courtesy to call me and let me know that an article was infact out of stock and offering a refund. They have kept my potential business.

Vote with your wallet and don't use the ones that let you down.

Good traders (like John of our forum shop) will always ship in days, sometimes hours, rather than weeks and have the courtesy to let you know if there is a problem with your order. If it is out of stock they should let you know and offer either a refund or to put it on back order for you, giving some idea of how long that may take.

        Cheers

Some one has not had doings with people in France I can see. There is only one place worse than France and thats Italy! Six weeks is nothing six months is more like it.

I think false advertising is pushing it a bit, Anyone can have problems with their stock. The real issue is that the owner of the retailer should of removed his thumb from a certain body cavity and called to advise the customer of the problem and come to an amicable agreement with them; would you like to wait or do you wish to cancell the order.

I think customer care is some thing that is more and more over looked as shops go on the internet. Its much harder to fob a customer off when he is standing in front of you and he can look you in the eye.

The anomosity of e-mail and telephones make it so much easier to 'pass the buck'.

If I had this happen to me, I would make it clear in no uncertain terms and they would never get any more custom from me. Vote with you wallet is a great way of putting it Steve.

I have spoken to him and he said he as'nt taken any monies from the account "lies" its gone out of the account. I did tell him i would wait for another 2-3 weeks if by then i dont recieve the goods then i want a full refund and i will never do any buisness with him again. So for now i will wait the said time and see what happens!!

I will keep you all posted.

I am happy for communication to be by email. I recently ordered the last one of a kit from a well known large retailer beginning with H. Only one was shown in stock. I received an email saying my order was being processed. A couple of days later I received another one saying the item was infact out of stock (one of you b**gers must have beaten me to it!) and asking if I wanted a refund or to place it on back order. I put it on back order. Around ten days later I got another email saying the item was discontinued and giving me a refund.

All impersonal,I never spoke to anyone, but quite acceptable to me. It isn't hard to do in this day and age. The information super highway can be used for just that, passing information.

Nige, I hope you get your stuff sorted.

              Cheers

Can't say i've heard of this model shop. I've only dealt with John, Relish, Models4sale and Hannants. If anything Hannants were by far the slowest but still delivered on their promises.

Good luck with getting your kits though.

I deal with Hannants and I can guarantee it's going to take 2 days to pick and 2 day carrier which for me isn't a problem as it's only stock I'm ordering, I don't know how long they take with a retail order, as for me I have live stock levels and on the very rare occasion that they are wrong I send an email straight away offering an alternative or refund or letting them know when I am going to place my next stock order if they are happy to wait, but like I said it's rare for my stock to be wrong.

I think an online model shop should have that something extra to get the business I like to think mine is delivery and try to give good customer service, I try my hardest to send things out asap, but 6 weeks, even 6 days is far too long

John your shop not only beats the big online shops on delivery but also on price. So far I have never had any problem with "E" as its just down the road from me. I have had items from them which I have paid for later on.

I did have my douts about ordering from them but the models i wanted (mk35) was the only place i could get them from, likewise Royal Models. Hopefully i will be able to get some direction from you lot on future buys.
