    Modern British Infantry

I guess this has probably been asked before so I'll apologise in advance.

    Sorry for asking again.

Does anyone know of any Modern British Infantry figures in plastic?

I've been on several sites and all I can see are resin ones. I'm a bit reluctant to go ahead and buy resin ones for a few reasons (fear of the unknown being the main one - I've never had any resin models before).

I saw on another forum (that I found when I did a google search) that Master Box are apparently working on some but there's nothing on their "In production" section about them.

Does anyone else know of any companies that are in the process of making them?

If not, has anyone bought any of the resin ones (which ones) and are they any good?

I don't really want to start the diorama I have planned if some plastics are going to be released.

I could do it with US models but I'd rather have UK forces.

    Thanks

Can I just say, do not be scared of resin figures. I bought some 1:48 figures for a project that I did not realise were resin, even when I had them it wasn't until I tried to glue them together with liquid poly tat I realised I had my first resin chaps. They are absolutely stunning, the clarity of the casting is amazing and they are so well sculptured, I find myself wondering what to do with a few boxes of Tamiya plastic figures as I know that they will not be used by me.

Just a few things with resin, they do need cleaning up as they have mould blocks on them rater than sprue. This looks very daunting but a good knife and a few cuts and scrapes and job done. Unlike large resin parts like kit sections, cockpits and houses, you will not have to do lots of sanding. Sanding resin is a health hazard and you have to ensure that you wipe up dust with a damp cloth to get rid of it.

It does look like a glossy plastic, well mine did, and it does feel a bit different. Only real drawback is that it can be a tad delicate. I did break one chaps arm off through being heavy handed but the break was clean and a drop of thin superglue and it went back together so well that I honestly cannot find the one that broke now.

They can be expensive but so long as they are well produced, you will be gobsmacked at the detail on these things, there are some real artists out there sculpting these figures.

Edit, just remembered. I did get a machine gun crew set that is Masterbox and they are stunning figures. I would say that they even have the edge on the ICM figures which I only have in 1:48 but the 1:35 Masterbox are beautiful.
