Model Club. Planning to start a model Club

Hi all just looking for a bit of advice or some suggestions. I live in solihull and my closest club is coventry. I want to start one just as a social club where modeller in solihull can join to meet up somewhere of chat and share tips, tools and stories. My local models shop have said they would be happy to put notes up in there windows. And I will promot Scale-models.co.uk of course lol.

Am I being stupid or does sound like a plan.

Sounds like a good idea, see what kind of responce you get from the ads in the model shops. Maybe a web site so poeple could find it that way. It will not need to be an all singing all dancing web site. Just some thing to get the word out. It will need to look ok though!

I would say give it a go and see what happens.

John had no idea how great this "club" would be, or how big. The only real thing to say is you will never know unless you try.

Sounds to me like a good idea and i hope it takes off. Spanner and i tried to organise one on the wirral but unfortunately it did not go anywhere.

Best of luck Alex, as my good buddy Scott mentions in his post, we tried twice to get something going in our area (Chester / Wirral) but we had no response so gave up!
