I thought being a Civil Servant that I would be good on pointless acronyms yet I find myself totally lost on all these..... come to think of it, I don't know what 99% of them mean at work either, I just drift through the day nodding in agreement when someone talks bol*&ks, which really is 99% of the day.Comment

All these Acronyms, (most of which aren't strictly acronyms BTW, By definition an acronym is a seperately pronouncable word created from the intials of several, i.e. NATO, pronounced as a word in it's own right rather than its letter parts, BTW, ROFL, ROTFLMAO etc are technicaly initialisms), ahem, sorry, where was I?
Oh yes,
Remind me of a story on the radio last week on the dangers of misinformation regarding these, a woman received an e-mail from a friend explaining her father had died and accordingly sent a response giving her heartfelt sympathies and ended the mail LOL thinking it meant Lots Of Love. I'll bet that was uncomfortable, I'm sure being friends the mistake was realised and understood but there you go.
Richard, no idea what they are barring SWALK, please enlighten us, I do remember from my school days POLO, i'm not going any further into that though.
