    How much did you spend??

The first question when I got home last night from Telford -' how much did you spend?? ' Not 'did you have a nice day dear', or 'was it good'; she knows me too well!

For the record - a new Iwata Eclipse BS, and the spectacular looking Archive kits 1/24 P-47D Thunderbolt. Well, plus sanding sponges, Mr Surfacer, etc etc.

I brought an Eclipse too, along with a load of other stuff. I recon i spent around £400 in all. But i had nothing for working at this scale to start with and i think i have everything i need now, hopefully. It was my first show and i was very impressed, as i said to Gern and Rich, i think you guys do a fantastic job as i see from your posts but having been to the show today and seen models in the flesh so to speak i now realise that your pics do not show just how good your finished works realy look. Im totaly amazed at what you guys can realy do with a kit. Top marks to you all.

Here you go folks. Pictures of the kits I bought at Telford (Not including some odds and ends of paint, varnish & masking tape). Spent around £200 what with entrance fee for two days, parking and refreshments so not bad at all.

PS Tony (Yakface) Do you reckon we kept our end up so no-one thinks we're a bunch of cheapskates on the forum? :lol

Looks like you got a few bargins there Gern. Like the look of the AS-90. Thats one big mother of a gun!!! Read some very good review of the Fletcher to- I'll look forwards to seing these two come together.

The Prieser figures, are they soft PVC or hard Poly. (I've been thinking of getting some of them but not if they are PVC!)

        Any photos from the show?

          Hi Ian,

The Preiser figures are a hard plastic - as opposed to the 'polythene' type plastic that most figures are made from. I'm impressed generally with the level of detail, but there is a lot of flash present. Maybe because these particular sets are quite old. There's lots of info available about Preiser figures here:

I don't think I'll be doing the Fletcher. The kit has markings for an alternative ship - the USS Chevalier - which has a much simpler colour scheme. That should bring it down a bit closer to my skill level and give me half a chance of making an acceptable job!

I don't have any pictures I'm afraid - my hands shake too much for me to use a camera unless I have something solid to rest against. I figured the folks who built all those amazing kits would not appreciate it if I leant against the tables and knocked them flat! :lol
