    Spyware in your Corn flakes.

We all know about the story line of the film Big brother and how peoples lives were ruled and monitored, well given the technology available today this is not very far from the truth, large supermarkets are currently experimenting with bugs installed into your shopping basket, the bugs monitor your movements telling the store all about your lifestyle adding to their database of consumer knowledge, the bugs are so tiny that it is only possible to locate them with a bit of special equipment.

At the moment the devices cost in the region of aprox £3 each making the exercise selective and relatively expensive on a large scale, however it is planned that wider use will be made of these devices once the production costs are reduced and then they will become more widespread. Naturally there have been many protests about the use of such devices in our every day life and to our privacy, however there is nothing new about the use of bugs in industry from boardrooms to vehicles and once more they are freely available to those who stoop to such low levels to get to know more about their customers.

So when you unpack your shopping next time and look at those innocent looking packages, think twice as to what is concealed within them ? rotest:

Barry, are you trying to make me paranoid or is everyone ganging up on me?

Well I know I`m not paranoid just because everybody hates me:sadcry:but the security services worldwide are developing more sophisticated "bugs" in the real sense of the word. Hard to believe insect size crawlers and fliers that have all sorts of sensors on them including live colur TV are in operation or development. The fliers have had to copy dragonfly, humming-bird and Bee aerodynamics because of the Reynold`s factor at those sizes. Amazing.

I hope that my wife never manages to gain access to one of these 'bug' decoders that can work out how much I really 'invest' in my hobby!

Barry' date=' are you trying to make me paranoid or is everyone ganging up on me?[/quote']*** Would not dream of doing such a thing James ! amazing the lengths some people will go to gather information,it certainly is a strange world these days that we live in,only this morning a friend who lives down the road suspects that someone has stole his identity, firstly he received a quote for a mortgage in his name that he had not applied for, when he rang the company he wanted to know what personal information that they had on him ? they had his salary and bank details,he went to the police who said they could not really help him,so where did they get those details from I wonder ? remember the national census some years back now ? well the government said that the details would not be available to anyone else, not so the details that you and me entered on those sheets has now been distributed to companies who buy such information,at the time anyone who failed to fill in the sheets was jailed,it happened also to someone that I know, now where is the trust I wonder ? rough justice to say the least.

Technology is a wonderful thing but it can sometimes get into the wrong hands and be used for the wrong purposes.
