If styrene or plastic then model cement will be fine, if they're resin then superglue.

Figure builders please correct me if i'm wrong but as I understand that's about it.

Hi Andy - those figures are resin - use superglue and you'll be fine. Be careful when removing the casting plug and sanding the resin the resultant dust is harmful.

How does the resin look? Verlinden stuff is normally pretty excellent and Iexpect no less from these figures.

        All the best

Also when trimmed up give them a proper good wash with soapy water before you start glueing them together

Brilliant, thanks guys. I started giueing them together now, though i did think of leaving the hands, head and other bits like holster , ammo bags etc till i have painted them seperatly. Not sure if this is the right way to go about it though.

I would leave off as much as you can until all the bits are painted up. Certainly the head and hands if you can. Not the arms though as it may be that you have to run a bit of filler in the joins and this is not possible after painting. Well, it is but defeats the object.

Thanks Rich. I would have never thought of Tipex as a filler. Its amazing what you learn here.

                        Hi Andy

Squadron, Humbrol, Tamiya... there all fine. I even use gap filling superglue (thick) and zap it with some accelorator.

All the best with the figures

I love using puttys to fill gaps. I stick in as much is required, wet my finger, then scrape off any unwanted bits. gte a lovely fill that way. As for soemthing you mentioned earlier, definately leave off as much detail as possible. Before you paint such details, make sure you know they fit on your soldier. The last think you want is to have a figure which has taken you weeks to paint only to smear glue over the nice paint job.

One way i've got into doing my soldier to make building and painting easier: I dry fit all pices and sand until the parts fit perfectly. I then drill into the arms and torso in which i insert some stiff metal wire. On some figures the arms are all over the place and getting the brush in to paint a tunic is bloody impossible. I paint the parts, glue the body together and give the joints a lick of paint to blend in the colours and shodows if needs be.

                            Cheers

                            Paul

                              Thanks Paul,

I have ordered a couple of books and a DVD from Amazon. I should get them in a couple of days. Would be better than keep asking loads of questions. Thanks again for your sound advice, i have noted it down in my little book.
