    Wash is destroying the paint

I have a problem. I got a wash that has Tamiya Acrylic Thinner mixed with Tamiya acrylic flat black (this wash is for the creases in the uniform of the soldiers). I went to apply it and a few minutes later it starts to eat/destroy some of the paint on my model.

Can anyone solve this for me??

    Thanks!

You have sealed your paint in (with klear etc) before trying to apply the wash right?

Your options with a wash are to either use a different paint system that will not react with the base paint such as oil paint over enamel, oil paint over acrylic, water based paint over enamel etc...etc... or you have to seal the base with something such as Kleer. However Kleer is an acrylic based coating so there is even a possibility that you can disturb that covering so using an alternative system is probably that bit safer.

Wot richard said ^^^^^! I use acrylic paint, seal with Klear (also acrylic) and then use water or oil based washes.

          Cheers
