    The Christmas present list

OK just to make a change from the usual latest acquisitions, lets hear what the guy in the red suit left under the tree!

I will start by saying He left me some Aires detail sets for the Lightnings and an SE5a (ops I didn't even know that was in the letter to Santa.!! So now I have two).

The Wife agreed that we will wait for the sales and find something then- truth is we just had no idea what we wanted!!!

I got a model that i was only looking at last week. It's an 1/72 Airfix BAe Nimrod. Opened the box and it's huge. No idea where i'm going to put it once it's built

I got two what I can only call collectors items a Matchbox Voight 1/72 Corsair and a Matchbox 1/72 Lightning three colour plastic? All the kits seem in good order and most bits save one or two off the sprue. Decals possibly need soem replacement, but I was really surprised seeing as they came from my sister! Still have the celophane around them when I opened them from the paper!!

As far as others go, like Ian I am going to look around in the sales, I fancy a 105mm Sherman!

I got all modeling stuff off my girlfriend Hanna.

1:350 Airfix HMS Illustrious (with extra sprue of Aircraft)

1:72 Airfix BAe nimrod (It was reduced from £36 to £16)

        1:48 Hasegawa Phantom

        1.48 Revell Spitfire

        Portable photo studio

        Airfix Handbook.

And a i got a Revell uboat and a Hasagawa 1.72 Mig 29 off a couple of my mates

I agree about that nimrod for a 1:72 its a big ass plane

Nothing on the styrene side for me, but then my missis knows how many kits I have sitting up there and probably wouldn't be sure of any i'm wanting, maybe I should have put the Vixen on my santa list.

However, I did get a cracking new tiny HD camcorder and I do a fair bit of camcordering, youtube and the like, this will save the tedious capture aspect of the MiniDV one I currently have.

Also got a selection of books, always a good choice as i love to read and never have enough reading material so end up re-reading stories.

Got a copy of Kickass on DVD from a friend too, will be watching that after my missis has done watching the Dr Who xmas special and the little fella's gone to bed.

I hope everyone has had a great X-Mas. As for presents my Nastya, sorry Father Christmas, did rather well. Got Tamiya's Challenger 2 1/35, Hasegawa Typhoon 1/48, Bronco A13 Mk II and Academy's Warrior also 1/35. Apparently, she phoned up the local model shop and asked for something British. I also got a turntable to do some spraying on as well as getting some tiny drill bits 0.3 to 0.8 from Tamiya. As well as some books and loads of chocolate, i'm grateful

What's good about being here in Russia is that i said to my Nastya that we ought to celebrate my Christmas as well as celebrate their new year. Russian X-mas is on the 7th January (the Orthodox calendar) but they don't celebrate that. They're big on the whole New Year thing which means more presents. But Nastya's informed me that those pressies are predominantly pants and socks

Well I got a kit I've been looking for a while now!

                Excuse the google sourced picture.

Like I said I've been looking for this for a while now! About a year to be exact, so I was well chuffed to see it under the wrapping paper!

Thanks for the link Andy (Lancasterb1), like Andy (Sky Raider) I didn't get any models for Christmas (despite me leaving the most detailed of notes featuring names, manufacturers, scales, best online prices and pictures of the boxes - wasn't I clear enough?).

All I got (which I'm totally happy about) was for my birthday last week. I got the Games Workshop Eldar Harlequin Troupe. I didn't even ask for them this year but I asked for them last year and didn't get them.

Still, I got a nice 10 year long service award in my pay this month so I see a shopping trip coming up (it also means I can decide which project I start with first).

Hi all, had a good christmas but like some of you i didn't get any plastic to glue together. Did get some pennys though so i'm going to get a few bits & pieces for my HL Tiger in the new year, hopefully i'll be back to my old self and back at the bench lol.

                          Have fun, John

Didn't think we were doing presents this year because money is tight so was shocked when the girlfriend produced this from under the tree, Dragon 1/35 T19 105mm Howitzer Half track. She said she had snuck into the shed when i was at work to see what i liked building then went down the local model shop...gotta love em

Hi everybody, this years Gift exchange netted me 2 tamiya kits, Challenger mk1 and the "pink panther" land rover thingy. After Christmas dinner I was left alone, and not having done this for many many years, the hours flew by. Loving it !
