    Battle of Britain memorial.

I was not aware until today, of a beautiful and fitting memorial stone to those lost in the Battle of Britain which rests on the thames embankment in London, the sculpture and names of those lost is a poignant reminder of the constant quest for peace in the world today.

The relief sculpture made as a long structure, looks very impressive with the words of Sir Winston Churchill set underneath 'Never before in the field of human conflict has so much been owed by so many to so few'

If anyone lives in that area then please will they take a photograph for us here of this superb piece of workmanship ?

I have seen it and wish i took a pic when i had the chance. I was lucky i saw it about 76.30 am on a sunday morning when the world was quiet and you had a chance to let the impact of the memorial wash over you (if you get my drift)

ps one of my other hobbies is exploring old ww11 aircraft fields and i stood at the end of boxted (just a small piece remaining ) and the feeling of well i cant describe it really it was a friday evening about 7.30 pm and you could just imagine and indeed feel the atmosphere from the place
