just curious as to how many of us are ipms members, i just joined this week and am about to contact our wirral branch manager to find out where their meetings are held, do any of you go to club meetings and what actually happens at these meetings. does any modelling get done and such like or is it just a chat over pint type of thing?

I am in IPMS and I attend the IPMS club in Farnborough, hence why I was on their stand at the Cosford show In fact I became the webmaster for the club a couple of months ago and ended up completely rebuilding their website alongside building the Aliens Dropship! I seems to like making life difficult for myself lol

This meeting is a 2 hour thing once a month over a pint in the Railway Modellers clubhouse in Farnborough. However closer to me is the IPMS Early Risers club who meet one Sunday every month where they all get together and do some modelling, so you takes your pick. That just the clubs in my area, I'm sure there are all sorts all over the place...

The missus has given me a leaflet for this and tells me that WE, yes, we, are going next Sunday! I can feel a demand for decorating or something coming on!

I had been thinking of joining and it will give me a first hand look. I've never joined a club and I presume they will have a 'join us stall.

I'm an IPMS member, and member of my local branch. We meet twice a month, where we discuss any forthcoming shows (who's going etc), and generally we take along a model or two for 'show and tell'; it can be finished, work in progress, whatever. We have folk that build aircraft, ships, vehicles, armour, fantasy figures - you name it. There's always something to be talked about and learned! The bar helps, of course...
