    Bending solid brass square bar?

I have the need to bend some 4.7mm (5/16"?) solid brass square bar for something but have no idea how to do it.

Can i just use solid objects to bend it around or is brass too brittle for this? If so i guess i need to heat it up with a blowtorch or something simular?

Because it is a solid bar you will probably need to heat it first to reduce the risk of it cracking or developing stress fractures later. Also reduces the risk of it wanting to spring back. Heat it to a dull red glow before shaping. Once it is shaped and allowed to cool you can clean it up with citric acid and scouring powder.
