Is it Law that you have to have a stash of kits?

I have just decided to get back into plastic model making. Last time I was building plastic models, other than for Model Railways, must have been the best part of thirty years ago and I had a stash of unmade kits then. Now, after promising myself I would build everything I bought before I made another purchase I find myself looking at a pile of unmade kits and I have not had a sniff of the liquid-poly yet!

Is it the law or is it just a disease?

Neither, Its an addiction. Either you can just say no and be strong. Or you can get it while you can and have something to fall back on.

I look at it as a pension plan. I have a half baked idea that I will take an early pension, become a sort of home going house husband. So a lot of my stash is saving up for a lot of rainy days.

    Thats my excuse anyway.

Ralph, I made the same promise to myself as you did. Once I see something I like the look of, I worry that I'll forget about it, so buy it and "save it 'til I've finished this one". Never happens and there's a dozen boxes upstairs!

I've always managed to keep mine in single figures!

        It can be done.

        Cheers

I'm pretty sure this is a nasty, yet fun and nerdy disease.

          Much Love,

funny that you say that my other half said the same thing, i even went to the dr about it and he said that once you have the disease there is no cure....lol

i have been told that is just a different strain from the tool box disease

It seems to just happen.... for me at least.

I have run out of room with my 1/48 and 1/32 stash so decided to hone my skill on 1/72. Now i seem to be building a stash of each scale lol.

I need to give up my job i think just so i have time to model hehe.

Jason if Sterling & the Euro crashed you could use all of those as currency.

The battle tank is worth a couple of loaves of bread. The DUK a couple or even 5 fishes.

Its all about the thrill of ownership - I know there are kits in my stash I will never probably build, but the fact that I own them is enough

Sadly still sitting in the shed, waiting for me to build my way through the plastic stash! It may take some time...

I still need to finally finish off the bloody land Rover! Planning to try to remember to go to Henley this year, although its clashing with Shoreham Airshow - completely forgot the last RMG meeting!
