How about this for a markup then, I bought the wife a ipod for xmas but it didn't have the usb lead with it, so I went to PC World and they want £29.99 for one or £39.99 for a docking station, I work for an electrcial wholesaler so I went throught some of our suppliers and found the lead at £2.22 and the docking station at £7.34 and whats more we get a further 25% off that :groupwave

*** I had a Nissan Prairie once,we were charged £180 plus VAT for a wing mirror that did not even have any paint on it,Japanease cars are known for expensive spare parts back up,I think that is why the insurance is so high on them as well.

              pc world

I can categorically state that pc world in my experience do not employ people with any form of knowledge at all let alone pc's " i wanted a power lead for a pc and after trying to no avail to explain to the assistant i said it is the same as a kettle lead " he then instructed me on how pc world do not sell kettles and i should try Argos lol

*** What would the price be for a conrod I wonder ? every fuel upload must cost a small fortune.

The current price I have for a Con-Rod is $22,000.00. A complete piston with rotating mechanism is $19,800.00. and don't forget we have eighty of each.

Fuel averages out over the month to 100 tons a day and it currently costs $260.00/ton. When we fill up every 10 or 11 days the fuel bill is in the region of 1/4 of a Million dollars. So we are looking at 3/4 of a Million per month.

Yes, I can believe the bit about PC World, same as Dixons, Currys or whatever, they employ monkeys who try to treat you like you don't know any different, I have caught them out before by asking for kit which I knew they did not sell only to see what the reaction was...I knew what the answer was going to be, I was more interested to see what sort of excuse the shop floor assistant would come up with. It was Fun as I had totally baffled him when I first asked for the item...he went blank...brain into overload, said hang on I'll go and look out the back and stopped by the video recorder stands and then came back and said No sorry we don't do those. All I had asked for was Digital Compact Cassettes (for audio recording only) which are only available from specialist suppliers but used to be available in some high street stores.

These were out the same time as Mini-Discs came out but were of higher quality, 18 bit recording compared to that of 16 bit with Mini-Discs ...for some reason they never caught on...Mini-Discs did.

Yes I will go to PC World on the Odd Occasion but only to price up goods or get the odd item if I really need it straight away, I build my own computers now so there is no way I would buy one off them.

                    Regards......Mark.

I go just to tie the staff in knots,99% of them don't even know what day it is let alone what a computer is, I very rarely buy anything and if I do it's a book or something that is about the same price else where.

*** It is a great pity that such an important chain of shops is blighted in this way ? something must be terribly wrong with the admin side,I wonder if they realise how much they are loosing in terms of sales because of it.I did notice how low stocks where on certain software last time I visited, they hardly had any of the map overlays for FS2004,I notice that Justflight are supplying a company called Games is it ? the re-ordering side at PCW seems to have gone bottoms up,like a lot of similar concerns they just seem interested in complete systems rather than spares back up etc.It needs a totally new management to sort out the shambles and bad reputation that they have.

I go just to tie the staff in knots' date='99% of them don't even know what day it is let alone what a computer is, I very rarely buy anything and if I do it's a book or something that is about the same price else where.[/quote']

car wing mirrors are horrific... we had our car vandalised in a hotel carpark about 18 months ago, both wingmiorrors were broken off the car, at £208 each to purchase....and then they have to be sprayed the same colour as the bodywork and fitted, as the car was essential to my wifes business we had these fitted and sprayed by audi and we ' charged it back'to the business eventually- the total bill for 2 audi heated/ electric door mirrors to buy, fit and spray was £790......DAYLIGHT ROBBERY
