Blimey, look what happens when you criticise someone's floor polish

I'm sure it's great for canopies but since I don't use it for that ................... :emo2:

I'll stick with the good old stuff thanks :goodidea:

Well I've got .....eeerm....several bottles of Klear in the top of a wardrobe. Proportianately it looks like the best investment I ever made! Certainly better than my pension scheme.....or gold.

Bottom line? It's just an acrylic varnish pretty much like all the rest. Those of us who have been around a while will remember we all started using it because it was cheap, much cheaper than the available model varnishes. This is hardly the case at thirty five quid a bottle.

If you are really desperate there are usually people in the States, where the original formula is still available, who will send some across for a fraction of the ebay price.

        Madness.

        Cheers

Stuart (good name that) I bet most of the ingredients are standard stuff used by lots of manufacturers. Just tweak it a bit for the better & you are away. Advertise the stuff as better than Klear & there are millions to be made.

Did some architectural work for a bod named Ron Hickman the inventor of B & D folding work bench. Took an interest & found from him that he was lucky. If it had been Klear he would have patented it as Klear & no body could have copied it world wide as the patent was in the case of the workbench "a folding work bench". Now you would have to go through hoops & there is no way he could have patented that in its simplicity nowadays.

Not only did he have to defend his simple concept in England it was through out the industrial world.

Matter of interest his folding work bench was most crude. It was the B & D engineers & designers who took the concept & arrived at Ron's Folding Work Bench as it is today. Ron made 50p on each one then later £1. One million the first year (80's I think) then 2 million. Also he was designer of the Lotus.

As Gary would say I am blathering on. Goodbye.

                  That's great

As I've said before, if you're happy with what you do that's all that matters

I do what I do because I enjoy the relaxation it gives and I have an unusual sense of humour, once I start getting uptight about it I'll move on to another challenge

As a genius once said "It's only a model"

                          You are right Colin.

His office was plastered with pictures of the model (Lotus that is).

Plus a cartoon thing which said every nut deserves a washer.

Ron invented a load of things.

His worst his daughter kept upsetting her potty. So he designed a potty that the childs feet rested on. Only problem when his daughter stood up & walked away the potter stuck to her bum. Should have used Klear to stick the potty to the floor.
