Airfix 1/48 BAe HArrier GR.3 Review wanted.

    Hi all,

If anyone has this kit in their stash or has built it (I think it's a new one) I would be very interested to hear your thought's on it as I'm so very tempted to buy yet another for the stash, even though I've already made a Harrier (not very well).

    Regards

    Chris

Cannot help on the Airfix Chris. But just incase you are tempted by the Tamiya 1/48

Joints not very good. Fuselage to wings poor.

Very little detailing to assemble. The outriggers which are very intricate comes as a finished article. Similar with the rear landing gear. Wheels are all integral with the landing gear. Shame.

The huge air intakes which on all other models seen have the little vents on the side cut out are non existent except for a few hazy lines

Panel lines & rivet lines are raised making it impractical to restore where they have been removed during sanding.

      Nice canopy pieces well marked.

Decals good though perhaps a bit thick.

Nearly finished & it does look a nice aircraft but frustrating building.
