    Stunning sight....

I was walking back to my office from a pub lunch today (Thursday Sept 13th) through the middle of Pencester Gardens Dover and heard the distinctive sound of a Merlin engine. I looked up and in the sky was the distinctive shape of a Spitfire AND a Hurricane flying overhead and alongside them two helicopters.

Can you imagine what an incredible sight that must have been from the helicopters? Specially as they were flying over the White Cliffs of Dover where the Battle of Britain was fought.

The two aircraft were performing manoeuvres around the choppers.

I was aware that an acquaintance of mine had formed a company called Action Stations to provide helicopter flights with a Spitfire but I was not aware that he had expanded to Hurricanes as well.

On his website the cost is £899 or £1199 per person depending on which package you buy. If only I could afford that kind of money.

Absolutely amazing, an experience of a lifetime.

thats funny because on sunday i saw a solo spitfire when i was near the grantham canal in nottingham with some friends. we stood and watched it and we tried to film it on our phones (which i made a complete mess of). it was flying very, very low and im sure the pilot must have seen us clapping and waving because he turned the plane around and treated us to little acrobatics show going into steep climbs and sharp turns for a good few minutes. i couldnt tell you which model the spitfire was but the roar from the rolls royce engine was wonderful. shame it only looked like a spec on my camera as it was incredubly close in real life. i wonder if anyone else from the area saw it?
