You only really need one model shop.....Scale Models Plastic Kits, AK Interactive, Vallejo Paints, Mr Hobby Aqueous Paints the chap that owns it is OK and is very helpful. The service is top notch, the prices are competitive and if he don't have it in the shop he will normally get it for you.

Hi John. Try typing Model Shops + West Midlands in Yell.com. They've got a dozen or more listed although I don't know any of them myself. There's a couple of guys on the forum who use Mr Model in Smethwick.

Few and far between these days. If you just want to look at kits then Parabellum in Hockley is a small place absolutely rammed with stuff. It has very limited opening hours. Bob's Models in Solihull (near the ice rink) is my closest and I pop in for stuff I need "NOW" sometimes. Most of the others seem to concentrate on RC or trains. I got some diorama stuff from a shop in Halesowen called Tennents Trains, another small store absolutely crammed with stuff. The people were helpful, particularly considering I'm not a model railway type.

I have two model shops in a 50mile radius. One is in the smoke and the other is only open Friday afternoon and Saturday morning!! The worst of it is that its IMPOSSIBLE to just go in and buy a opt of paint or a glue. I think there is little if no chance of coming out without a light wallet and a heavy bag!!!

                Sorry to come in...

I have only one shop....and it's about 120km of my house!!! Very, very good shop, but only belic kits!!! No cars, trucks and others.... In fact there is another one, but they do trains principally.

Good luck with your research John!

Mr Models in Bearwood is packed the rafters with stuff. -If you go to air/model shows you have probably come across him in the past as he seems to turn up everywhere. - He also has a large selection of sci-fi models if you like that kind of thing. -
