    Airfix at Woolworths

I was in a Leighton Buzzrd hardware shop this morning - there were a few newish, model kits on display. Among them were three of these (see picture). It reminded me of my childhood, Saturday mornings, pocket money and choosing a kit. I'm assuming this kit on display is an old kit, or at least, I've never seen one like this for many a year.

    Kind regards

    Aidan

I remember many Saturday mornings spent browsing around Woolworths and the many other model/toy stores in town whilst shopping with my Dad. He used to leave me there whilst he went off to get the "big shop" at the supermarket. I'd spend ages as a wide eyed boy looking at all the kits in the boxes and display cabinets.

How times change.... no more Woolworths and not even a decent toy/model store in town!

    Atb,

    Colin.

They look a lot like the kits Airfix send out to schools for the Airfix Project.

This is James May's spitfire that he did for a TV program about toys of his childhood isn't it. Didn't he build a full size one on the show.

              Tony.
