do you secretly have a favourite child?

i dont have kids. dont know if i ever will now, and im not too keen on acquiring any to be honest. so for all you mums and dads, i know you love your kids equally and deeply, but which kid do 'like' better?? as a person, a human being. which one do you just connect with, even if you dont necessarily share the same interests.

this is stirring up the pot isnt it lol!!!

I have 4 children. Karen the eldest & she is best because she is first. But Mark is the first boy so he is also best. Sarah well she just came along joined the party & she is also best. So five people around the dining table but six seats so said I, Pauline guessed, five & one make six. So surprise Pete the babe arrived & he is best. So with Pauline I now have all for me five of the best. The happiest time in my life is when I am with them & their partners.

So I think that answers your conundrum.

dont take this the wrong way but unless you have kids you won't know what I mean when I say ......

I love them all the same .. totally unconditionally.... theres no choice to be made in my world.

you connect differently with each of them but the underlying relationship you have is perfectly equal.

We dont have any kids either, So the ones I like best are the ones that we can give back to their mum when the day is over. When I was in England, I looked after me sisters kids some times, that was a blast. Now its the sister in laws kids. A young Diva and a computer games fan. Mia, the Diva is a blond with a capital B and it very amusing to have visit. Nicholas the games fan is these days very easy to look after, but even though he is totally involved with a game, he is still in the room and drops some wonderful one liners, normally aimed at his sister.

i like this question its really interesting. and i believe it is possible to have a favorite. i love both my children so much.. BUT..my daughter has always had a cheeky side to her..always moaning. from the minute she was born she refused to sleep on her own..shes was that much hard work..it put me off of kids. :lol then..i thought after a while one more would be nice..i so wanted a boy this time..and i got my boy. he has been a breeze so far..such a good boy and so far no problems.. i will say im def enjoying my son more.. hes my favourite i guess.. i love my daughter so much but still to this day, shes a handful.. boys are easier i think. i honetly believe deep down people must have a favourite child. it was a straight forward question, and i gave a straight answer i suppose. :lol

In really really basic & truthful terms full of honesty Funky (what is your name ?).

The one I really like is Karen Mark Sarah & Peter.

To that I add their partners Paula Phil & Simon.

To that I add my grandsons Thomas, Samuel, Mathew & little Olly despite the fact they have named me "Naughty Grandad".

With all I have the best & great relationship & they all get on in with each other in a very happy family which on family days is just full of fun & laughter. (May say at home I pull all the plugs out from the television & equipment).

Remember children are all, in a functioning family, brought up in the image & likeness of their parents. The Greeks have many words for different types of love agape eros storge pwlia. But in English we just have one Love. Each of our children has, as Colin has mentioned & I often quote it is the greatest of all loves, unconditional love. There are no betters as the term implies it is infinite.

That's what little nephews and nieces (once removed) and above all grand children are for .

One of SWMBO's lot had twins......a day of them as two year olds was quite enough thank you very much. I'd forgotten what hard work it could be

No favourites here, though now grown up they both think the other one was,and still is,the favourite!

hi there .. i think Colin has got it pretty much right. i adore both of my kids (7 and 10) and play quite happily with them and enjoy interacting with them ... With shannon it is obviously the more girlie type games whilst with connor it all revolves around cricket and football etc .... if i had to make a choice i would probably go for chasing a cricket ball / football around a field but at the moment i am happily finding time for both. Difficult to describe the challenges of having children .. but it certainly is not boring and keep's one young at heart and i would not change it for the world ....Lindsey
