    Ebay sales percentage?

Does anyone know what percentage Ebay take as a cut?

I have some kits I want to sell before the IPMS show to give me some extra spending money, but not sure if I should put them in the Kit swap at the show or sell on Ebay.

    Thanks

Go to EBAY Adrian & on the top bar look for sell & that gives all the rates.

D'oh, never thought of that, having a lazy Sunday

@ Laurie, I would but as I bought them cheap and now trying to turn a profit I would feel bad, plus you'd all know what I paid for em, lol

Sorry I do not understand that Adrian. Nothing wrong with profit & nobody will know what you paid for them.

so what...... as long as the buyer gets a good deal that's all that matters isn't it?

if I was interested in something that's originally twenty quid in the shops and you had it for a tenner and you paid a quid for it then i would still have a good deal and wouldn't care what it cost you.

It's 10% plus listing fee which I think is 40p and don't forget PayPal fees when you sell which is 3.8%+20p

Ebay are they same 10% fees as IPMS so no difference there,

ok, I'll give you an example, I bought the 1/24th Mosquito from Modelzone a few months back, now I want to sell it, I bet most on here know what it was reduced to, partly cos I listed it on the site, lol

I've seen loads of the Modelzone sale items on ebay over the last few weeks! As Colin says, as long as the buyer is happy with what he/she saves, what does it matter how much you make?

Exactly chaps. Someone recently was happy to pay £54 for a bottle of Klear on ebay. He must know that the original cost was about a fiver.

Totally agree with the lads , if you can make a few quid profit Ade go for it , I`m sure everyone on here would do the same , I check modlezone online every day , every now and then they have some great deals and they do free delivery with anything over £10 ,

Why don't you put up a list on here for a couple of days, of the kits you want to sell with prices inc. postage, and see if theres any interest, if not put them on E-bay, no loss, and if you make a sale on here, no fees either.

I see what your saying all, I was just hesitant as I was going to list the Mossie double what I paid for it, on ebay anyways, I checked and they are still asking min £125 + postage for the ones I saw, so it would still be cheaper. My friend reckons to put it as collection only or collect from IPMS as I will be there both days, like he says if they want it they will bid on it knowing the collection options

                          Cheers Adrian
