If this is the tutorial guy that some people rave about then i would imagine that because he provides tutorials that you have to pay for he's realised that the free stuff on you tube is taking away from his income.

Makes perfect business sense to me to give a few freebies first to get an interest.

Im my own opinion, from what i've picked up on the rare occasions i look at tutorials, there are others out there that have the same talent and they just pop vids up for nowt.

To be honest, if i get stuck on something i have in the past gone to youtube and just put in the search box what i want to find ... such as "1/35 bushes tutorial".

I've never really taken notice on who did the vid though, i just pick up on the idea if it appeals.

Sorry i can't be more help than that John.

            John,

Flory does still post a weekly free video, He just puts it up on his site rather than youtube.

Got to say that I learnt a lot from Flory & my model making improved enormously from the way techniques he went about things. He gave an insight into things I may have spent a life time finding about. Being on an Island I am a bit separated (there are more than just me on the Island of course) & do not see any model making in the raw.

But in some things now you would not recognize any Flory influence as I have taken his method & changed it to my way. To just follow some other persons technique in total does not normally work. Flory goes off at the speed of sound, some of it I know for video purposes, but that does not suit me. But his video tuition is good & some are 30 mins long so it is thorough in that respect. In one he builds a whole aircraft, in the video, not in real time. Ie it is edited down. In his videos he is also talking & going through options so they have a lot of content & are not boring mono slabs of video as a lot I have seen.

You may not agree with all he says but it stimulates the mind with ideas.

To see all his tuition films will only cost £3:00 a month so a month is enough. Cheap for I think I calculated 10 hours appox of tutorials.

Is this guy worth subscribing to, I've seen his you tube vids and looked at his web site, but don't want to pay, even £3, for something I can get for free elsewhere. Call me tight, OK I'm tight, but don't see the point of paying if I can get something for free.

                Tony.

I looked at a tube video & I have seen the £3:00 efforts. The tube effort I saw was edited down & as some one has said they are appetizers to go & see the whole thing at Flory. Why not he has spent a lot of time making them.

I thought it was £3 really worth paying & feel I more than got my monies worth but that is my opinion. Put another way I have a drawer of model stuff I have bought & discarded which annoys me and it all cost a fortune compared to £3. One thing is certain Tony you will have to pay your £3 to check out my opinion. He he to dig deep or not to dig deep that is the £3 question is it noble or daft ? Sorry My Shakespeare.

I'v just had a while actually looking at his stuff and then searching for the same topic on YouTube and to be honest it seems everythings there free of charge, often just as easily eexplained and sometimes an even better end result.

hopefully I'm not coming across as speaking out of turn but thats the result of my research today.

I subscribe to Flory and consider it worth every penny of the £3/month. There is no contractual tie-in so you can just invest £3 and stop it or carry on, I decided to carry on.

I had a lot of problems getting used to using the airbrush and was going to spend a lot of dosh and time getting some formal training. Instead I subscribed to Flory and never looked back. There are a lot of build and reviews on the website. Yes, like most people, I do not just copy all he does and I modify them for myself. He also does a great line in sanding sticks/sponges and washes that I recommend, some are available through John here.

It was Flory's free videos on youtube that got me started along the right lines when I bought my airbrush. He had/has a number of very good youtube vidoes on other modelling techniques also. Derek

Well have not looked at Flory for a few months. But just had a nose.

This chap is just prolific he has videos of building 44 different models. Looked at a Swordfish 1 hour video on the build another model a Mig 29 2 hours of video. This is all apart from the tuition stuff he does.
