Academy 1/32 Sopwith Camel F1 - Rigging Replacement?

    Hi

    Still a newby.

If anyone's familiar with this kit, they'll know that the rigging that comes with the kit is basic cotton thread. I imagine this won't look very realistic, and although I'm still new to the hobby and realism is not any strength at the moment, I would like to use something else more realistic for the rigging instead of the cotton thread. Or is there something I can do to the cotton thread to make it appear more realistic?

Any ideas will be very welcome. I'm steering away from the fish line idea though.

    Thanks

PS: Have finished spitting, swearing, filler, filling and sanding on the Revel 1/72 Ju-88. Starting painting tonight. Although I don't post much, I read the new threads every day.

    Hej Frikkie

At that scale you could possibly use guitar wire to good advantage. You can get them in silver or nickel so should look good.

That's a great idea. I do have some spare guitar wire lying around somewhere. Will post pics if it comes out ok.

      Thanks Ian.

If the guitar wire is not to the correct scale, John Lewis do nylon 'thread' which is already taught and can be painted, easily, without primer. It's £1 a go! It's a tad thicker than sewing thread. Haberdashery department.
