Ive spent a really enjoyable 4hrs wandering around the show.Met Andrew (Phalinmegob)on the Wirral stand And had a nice long chat about weathering techniques with a nice chap on the MODELLBRNO - Úvod stand.God knows how but i managed to limit myself to 2 kits. The mossie for £20 and aMonogram 1/48 P38 for a tenner.I bought lots of modelling aids though, which is what i really came for.Ive taken some photos of some of the fantastic models on show. Will post some when iget home. Now ive got a 176 mile drive back to Southend.

i have to be honest, dave you were lucky to catch me because i did not spend that much time at the table, you were lucky that my feet were aching lol. my first real big show that i had some money in my pocket for and i couldnt keep still. when i only had a tenner left i still ran into kit swap to see what else i could find, got a 1:48 f22 raptor and had enough change to get ten fags on the way home.

Was my first time at Telford, really really enjoyed it. Went both days.

Things that stand out for me... 1). I was surprised by how much I liked small-scale models like 1:144.. 2). Was gob-smacked at the quality of modelling in the Competition area !

Also, I can't believe how controlled I was with my wallet ! I only bought 2 kits and some reference books. I was reluctant to buy the models in "scruffy" boxes because I don't have the knowledge of what's inside the box. I would still have enjoyed it all even if I bought nothing :-)

Well I'm inmy hotel roomat Telford still, withVERY sore feet after an absolute stonking weekend. Came up her on the bus with the IPMS Farnborough blokes and we set up on Friday afternoon and had a look around what was already there. We missed the Lynx arrival, but it was good to see it there.

I put 4 models into the comp and the Babylon 5Starfury won silver in its category! Sadly neither the Alines dropship nor the Bar-armoured scimitar nor the Falklands Scorpion got placed, but I am pleased with the silver. Went to the awards ceremony and was frankly astonised at howoften the same names kept cropping up! One Czech modeller won 4 golds and a bunch of the other awards!

I was vey pleased that Stingray was one of the most popular models on the Farnborough stand

Returning home tomorrow via RAF Cosford and we have our monthly club meting tomorow evening as well, so its beena vey packed few days. My bank balance has suffered a cardiac arrest eventhoughIgot a couple of nice bargains! I've got a load of photos, but weven after two days I don't feel like I saw everything!

My back, legs and arms now hurt as it wasIPMS FRnborough (and others) job to pack away all the tables and chairs at the end of the show and there were a LOT! Some of my colleagues even got a chance to push the Lynx out of the hall to where it took off, but I was too busy collecting chairs and missed it

                        Looking forward to next year!

I saw your Starfury and was very impressed, sadly I didnt get to see it lit. I built two many years ago and was thinking of refreshing them, would you know if the decals are available from any source?

                              Thanks

I had to do a battery replacement on Sunday as the lights were virtually extinguished - not that it would have made any difference to the placing - the Nostromo that won' Gold was an astounding piece of work! The decals are - I believe available separately from Starship modeller - mine came with the kit as I bought the "special edition" version.
