Model kit 1/72 Avro Manchester Bomber?

Hello everyone,

does anyone know where/if i can get my hands on a 1/72 plastic model kit of the WW2 Avro manchester bomber?

I'm searching and can see pictures of models that have been made, but cant find one for sale. Help!!!!!!

I made a vacuform kit of the Manchester in 1/72 some years ago.I don't think anyone does an ejection moulded kit of this aircraft.Which is very surprising when you consider some of the obscure types that are kitted these days.The only Manchester kit I'm aware of is a 1/48 Vacuform produced by a small company in Wales called Sanger.

planet model do/did a resin one. Paragon did a conversion set for the Airfix Lancaster, But I think that will be hard to find and is a major surgery job.

i never realised how hord this would be to find a kit for WW2 british aircraft lol!!!!!! You'd think it would be a big part of history so model kits would be a good idea? How wrong could one person be!!!

The only Manchester kit I'm aware of is a 1/48 Vacuform produced by a small company in Wales called Sanger.

Thanks for the heads up on Sanger models. Never heard of them. Do you know if they are any good?

A sad side of modelling is that the main stream producers are in the East. They make what sells, they love anything US German or Japanese.

Slowly the tide is turning and eyes are opening to more and more British military are starting to come through. Hopefully the RAF will start to make a similar revival. We can only live in hope.

Lets hope that the "new" Airfix wakes up and smells the money.

Hopefully, as i'm having the same trouble with the Fairey Albacore and the Whitworth Whitley. So annoying.

Sanger vacuforms or any Vacuform for that matter are not for the faint hearted.Ive only built two vacforms in my life.The Manchester which I made about 20 years ago and didn't do a very good job of.And a 1/48 Halifax Sanger kit which I built more successfully last year.The Halifax was a real challenge and took me 4 months to make.The parts came on a couple of sheets of plastic and you had to cut them out and sand them to shape before even starting to build the model.There was no detail in the interior.So I had to scratch build it myself.Something im not very good at.And the decals that came with it were awful.I had to source these from after market sheets.So I wouldn't recommend a Vacuform unless you have loads of patience and determination.The Manchester is Sangers latest kit released earlier this year.Check out their web site if your interested.They even do a 1/48 B52!.
