    Uniform help

    Good morning all.

    Just a quick question.

Do we have a resident WWII uniforms expert?

I'm getting my Normandy build going but I have 4 guys who are in need of some colour (I'll try to open a thread on the GB section later today if I get the time) but I'm not exactly sure of the right colours.

I am wondering if the Georgian Legion had the same uniform as the Germans (with an added patch on the right sleeve). As far as I can tell the uniform is the same but would appreciate confirmation on this if anyone knows.

    Thanks

    Drew

Drew iam 100% sure that the standard uniform is field gray, normal german uniform colour the only difference is in the insignia.

Sorry for the follow up question but I've been looking this up online and there are some differences of opinion.

The colour (although called "field grey") actually has a green tint to it, is that correct?

If you ask me I would say yes they where green. Vallejo do the German uniform colour and I can confirm that that is green.

Axis History Factbook: Heer NCO Georgian Legion Uniform This looks pretty green to me.

The misconception that German uniforms where Gray is a product of Hollywood.

Thanks everyone, that's a great help.

I'm sure I have colours that I can use (or mix) to get the right shade.

Well that and the fact that the english translation of the colour is "field grey" That as we know doesn't mean it is grey.

In the RLM system for aircraft finishes the 02 colour is simply called "grey" which it certainly is not.
