Medals for Artic Men & Bomber Command

At last it has been announced that Seamen on the treacherous Arctic Convoys plus the men of Bomber Command all during WW11 are to get medals.

About darned time a living hell from all I have read & seen on film.

Does anybody know about the men on the Atlantic Convoys as they lived in no less a living hell.

The seamen lived 24 hours 7 days a week waiting & hoping battling the two enemies the U Boats & the sea. The same with Bomber Command. To think that some did 3 tours of duty.

We seem pretty poor at saying thanks at times.

This has to be a good thing but, like the BC memorial in Green Park, it comes far,far too late.

Lindsey the service records of the BC veterans will survive and that shouldn't be a problem. Likewise the RN. I don't know about the Merchant Seamen, how records were kept.
