i've gotten some star wars models by finemolds from them. shipping costs wasn't too bad considering it came from japan. shipping time also wasn't bad. i'd definitely buy from them again.

In the same vein, has anyone tried Lucky Model? I have twice, but has been very poor service both times - maybe it's just me!

I buy from Lucky Model quite a bit (never tried HLJ though). Never had a problem just be make sure not to order anything unless it has the green "In Stock" note, the blue "Available" means they don't have it in the warehouse but can get it from manufacturers (but they can be slow in doing that).

I have used luckymodels a fair bit and no real issues.

If they check it as gift/low value, there doesnt tend to be extras to pay.

In stock works a treat, anything available..... be very wary as if you have more than 1 item, the whole thing can get held up. Another tip.... the shipping is done on weight so check airmail and surface mail.... some items are cheaper for airmail (and much quicker, surface mail is 6 weeks or so). You can save on shipping by adding to the order up to just under the whole kg.
