customer services and a word of warning

bought myself a trumpeter lav-m from telford for the very reasonable price of £12, was thinking about using it to do the gb for non tracked armour so i opened the box up yesterday to have a nose as you do. whilst looking at all the parts, i got to thinking...there dosnt seem to be many parts so i has a look at the destructions, very miffed as i notice there is a sprue missing. so i e-mail the company i bought if at telford and enquired as to wether they had a spare sprue and was fobbed of to pocketbond as the uk distributer of trumpeter kits, so i e-mailed them, i got an information sheet e-mailed back to me with what they required me to do and stating that will not supply full sprues only spare parts and that it could cost up to £12 and take weeks and weeks to be sorted. so i saw my backsaide and thought sod that. stomped back into my modelling den to throw the box up on the top shelf to be bashed at a later date......that was when i noticed the missing sprue glued to the inside of the lid......doh

so in future make sure you look in both sides of the box guys.

Well that's a first andrew. Never seen sprues glued into the box. Might be worth while e-mailing them back asking if this is standard for them lol.

As you bought the kit from a company at Telford your "contract" is with them not their supplier, it should be them that sorts it our, missing sprues happen, I've had customers with bits missing, I take them out of another kit, send it to my customer, contact my supplier they take them out of a kit to send to me, then they contact their supplier etc etc

Go back to the company you bought it from

Some times you do get great satisfaction form the manufacturer & some times it is quicker that way.

Had a duff Vallejo Varnish & Vallejo sent not only a replacement but another 2 of their products to try. Great PR.

As John has said the contract is with the person you bought the stuff from & also it matters not if a company or an individual those are the rights.

Think fortunately with the web the companies not conforming are getting smaller in number & those left stupid as one dissatisfied customer brings a whole group with them such as Andrew's case.

A reputation built in years can be lost in the hour.

John, you are correct and I know that you would honour your half of the deal that and supply the part.

Sadly not everyone operates at your high standards and it can be difficult, frustrating and time consuming to force them to honour their contract.

                  Cheers

                  Steve
