    Gator Glue

Just got some Gator glue thru the post from John .I've read good things about this glue. But a chap on the IPMS Facebook page reckons Microscale crystal clear and Gator glue are no different to ordinary PVA.I don't think they are,but I'm not going to get into a petty argument with him.Ive tried ordinary PVA for windows and it didn't work very well. What do you forum chaps think?.

I don't know the difference either but they both act different to normal PVA, I'm guessing they have a better bonding agent built in, I've used Kristal Klear and Gator and I would say Gator is slightly better, but not much to choose between them

They might be similar but i would say theyre definitely not the same. Ive used gator glue and found it to be a lot thicker and faster drying than PVA , the same with kristal klear , so obviously the formulation must be different to common PVA. I for one am going to continue using both (as well as Formula 560) and leave the pva for the dio bases , cheers tony

PVA and the other two are based on similar chemistry but that doesn't mean that they are the same.

I like Gator's Grip but also GS Hypo cement. The latter dries quicker and gives a very strong bond. It's a bit of a bugger to work with,I always end up with long stringy bits if you know what I mean

          Cheers

Dave. Gaytor glue is different. It actually expands & slightly foams as it sets.

You are right on that Hypo Cement. Once the stuff starts it journey from the tube point applicator the only way to stop it is to stick the needle in the tube.
