War film on TV this afternoon

The Bridges at Toko-ri. A fact-based drama about the air war in Korea. I watched it ages ago, and I remember it was worth a look.

There was a "well I never!" moment in this film. As the aircraft carrier was docking, they had a dozen or so A1 Skyraiders lashed to the deck, facing inwards, engines running. They used the planes to steer the ship by running full throttle or idling. Amazing stuff, and presumably true.
