a little help required

hi guys,i wish to build something that looks like this,for a small project,just the loader.

i now that verlinden make one but cannot afford any money for my hobby at the moment so i was going to attempt my first ever scratch build as this device in 1:48 scale.problem is i cannot find any reference as to size.does anyone have one that they could measure,or now of a link to manufactures sizes or plans etc.planning on using a few scraps of balsa and some thin plastic sheeting but all recommendations or help would be great as long as it is cheap
