    DB's car

Is there some one here that can put a model and mark on baders MG. I know it was red. I think it was either a Tourer, or a Magnette, but not sure.

If anyone just happens to know, Please let me in on it.

I have often thought of a diorama with DB with both his car and Spitfire.

    He drove an MG TA1753,

licence plate GPC 671, in black, right hand drive,

    engine number MPJG 2010

This is the only one i could find reference to in my MG book, as it was registered in sept 1937 i would assume it was the car he drove through the war, hope it helps

    *edit*

I have found a PDF file that has images of the original log book if you want it.

Colin, Could I get away with a TC? To my untrained eye they look rather alike on the out side.

I can find a model of them.....but if its well different I will have to re think it!

They come in Roadster, Coupe ... and ... Tickford coupe (Hmmmmm)

Baders looks like a roadster from all the piccies on t'inter-google.

the numbers after "TA" just seem to be linked to what extras the car had, sort of like our "GT" or "GTI" or "SE"

The difference between the three is really only in the roof structure, the roadster would be the easiest to "scratch" if the model you got was the coupe type.

And yes, i'll be looking forward to seeing this come together, be a tribute to a great man.

Edit .... forgot the photies ...duh.

Comparing the TC and TA, both in red so you can see the details.

Got some time on my hands so i thought i'd have a look-see on t'interweb for this.

Monogram do a 1/24 TC .... can you get a 1/24 spitfire in the right version?? ... that would be impressive.

There are quite a few TC's in 1/32 scale on fleabay at the moment. Just a case of finding one that will send to Denmark....
