    WHSmiths now selling model kits

In town yesterday whsmiths had a sign in their window advertising model kits they had in store. Went in and had a look, and they had quite a reasonable range of Tamiya, airfix and revell kits. Also had a fair range of accessories, and the full range of humbrol and revell tins of enamel paints. They also had a good range of Hornby stuff, track buildings ect!!!! They weren't quite as cheap as modelzone, but if you haven't gotta local model shop they are certainly worth a look!!!!

    Cheers, Andrew

also whilst your in town, if you have a tk maxx close have a wander to the kids toys section, they quite often have a few kits at relatively good prices.sometimes there are none at all though, its a bit hit and miss with them.

        Hi,

You are certainly correct about TK Maxx there are bargins to be had.I picked up a Revell/Zvedza Mi-26 Halo from the Birkenhead store for £11.00 (it had been knocked down twice from I think around £15.00) and a Revell/Matchbox Privateer for£7.00 from the Wrexham store. They seem only to stock Revell kits I assume they might be buying up clearance stock or perhaps doing a special deal with Revell as they are always well below rrp.

to be honest malcolm, i missed the last meeting because my sciatica was playing me up and i couldnt stand up straight, caused by grouting floor tiles. and the one before that i totally forgot about, but i will blame terry for forgetting to e-mail the reminder. will be at the next one,did see a few of the guys at cosford.......

I don't know about other areas but, the Edinburgh Wool Shop in Holmfirth sells Airfix kits, Sclextric and Hornby train sets and accessories. Seems to fit in well with the tartan and tweed.

They've only started in Ipswich in the last few weeks. Also noticed they had a few kits in the The Works!

while you in the works you could also pick yourself up some handy little paint pots with closeable lids, some cheap brushes (no good for painting with but handy for stuff like mr surfacer etc), a couple of interesting books by arthur ward. all manner of interesting things pop up in the works for modellers to use

Here in Hull we have a Hobby Craft, that have a large selection of Airfix, Revell & Guillows kits.

A very large selection of Airfix, Revell & Citadel paints.

They also have a seperate section of reduced items, which for a reason I don't understand are fairly recent kits!

A local Budget store 'Boyes' has also recently started stocking Airfix , Vellajo & Citadel products.

This being very surprising as this store mainly caters for the less well off, being situated areas where people really

haven't got spare cash for non essentials!
