How do you display yours?

    Hi all,

I was at the show in West Park on Sunday and noticed that I was the only one who displayed his models on just plain wood similar to this, the other members all have their builds on wood bases but with some grass added. So my question is how do you display yours?

I know dioramas are different of course but I'm wondering if I should add grass to improve the feel for the model?

Personally Adrian........ If the model is mounted on anything "too busy" it'll detract from the build. Maybe something simple like putting some concrete sections on the wood.... Something like this. But keep it simple.

This is one I did for my swordfish (Wooden Carrier Deck)

............ And that is a super build you've done there.

Thanks, actually that model now sits like this , though I did get a leg pullin for not putting any wheel tracks in the snow

I think whatever pleases you the most should be the base you put your kit on. A plain wooden one can show off the model as nicely as a dio base.

Adrian I like to show my models in some way how they would appear in the real at the time they were used.

This gives an idea of how I like to show. These are just Conti board shelves on adjustable bracket supports.

Also make up labels to show people looking at the collection the aircraft types.

Like the carrier deck Peter. Think I will pinch that idea for my Swordfish.

Wow those are very nice displays, sadly most of the time my builds are in storage boxes and only come out when I go to a show, on Sunday all mine except one were on wooden finished based and the other members of the club had grass effect bases. I'm just thinking grass would look better for them at shows.

              Laurie,

I just used a piece of MDF with an Oak Veneer I scammed from a kitchen company next door at work and just lined it with a thin black marker and a the dotted white line was just masked and painted white. Easy and cost me nowt lad.
