    Finding my way home :-)

Hi folks, finally got the motivation to do something.

If you havent noticed, I have been absent for a looooooooong time. The job that I was doing finished and poss, because of that, my mo-jo for building also went. It was around the time of the Olympics, so nearly a year now.

I still have a large stash, which i partly bought beacuse I knew the job was ending (still have a large stash), frankly couldn't be bothered....but.....the bug has started to give me a nudge and getting the addiction to plastic has slowly surfaced again, so we'll see how long this lasts for.

As I said, I still have a stash which is slowly getting bigger (some "new" kits have included: Gigantics Scorpion diorama - done the scorpion, still need to paint and assemble the buildings, cars etc Tamiya WW2 Jeep,(which strictly speaking is the only true model I've actually done - even then i havent put all the decals on, but happy to leave it as it is;Airfix Dinosaur 2, Revell 1/32 Red Arrows BAe Hawk, Airfix 1/72 Harrier, Gnat (Red Arrows), numerous 1/72 biplanes from Airfix and Revell, snap kits (spitfire, mustang, F-16 and Mig 29) Airfix 1/72 F-5 Freedom Fighter. Plastic figs - Werewolf, knight on horseback and Household cavalry. I got the latter to paint as a celebration for the London Olympics and finally a t-rex skeleton.

I also have this daft notion of building a 1/24 police car (interceptor/pursuit), i've seen a police accessory kit (fujimi???) and was thinking of an old 60/70's muscle car, e.g.Mustang Boss, Chevy Camaro, Dodge Charger or Challenger etc, nothing specific, but does not need any great detail; body, glass and rubber would be suficient.

As a side note, sorry to hear ModelZone are going under, I went to their website only to be informed the administrators where being called in. I've only been once (Merryhill) took me ages to find the shop - no signs, but of course still came home with a couple of boxes, but anyways one less model supplier. Hobby craft are still selling models, but it would be nice if they had some newer ones occassionally and drop their prices to boot. One decent model I got a year ago was the 1/48 Italeri BAe Hawk, quite nice with PE parts in the clearance shelf for £20 and a Valentine tank 1/72 (also Italeri) for £5.

Thats all for now, hopefully will get modelling soon. C Ya
