    Coloured clear plastic

Not sure where this fits , so start at the top:

Does anyone know if it is poss to get coloured clear plastic, or (preferably) stick on coloured clear film?

I have an idea for a model and wanted to put in tinted windows, rather than simply clear windows. I know you you can get coloured transparent paint, eg Tamiya and Humbrol (i think do it). The colour Im looking for is either dark green, dark blue or black.

    Ta

Or do i have to eat a lot of "Quality street" in order to get wrappers OR ..... literally become crafty and try some scratch building (plastic folders etc)

You could try colouring with very diluted wash mixed with klear that way you could control the darkness and colour I have seen this done on canopies I use it for indicators on bikes and cars.

I think hobby craft do something like this.

I've used diluted acrylic paint, citadel washes, permanent markers on clear plastic to achieve the effect you're looking for

            Hope this helps a bit

Some paint manufacturers do a range of clear colours which can be brushed or sprayed - Vallejo and Tamiya I know of, but there may be more.

                all above thnx

Nice ideas to start me off with. (with my rate it might be next year)

I mentioned somewhere i was thinking of doing an "Interceptor/Pursuit Police Car, scratch building, i suppose, rather than having a ready-built or manufactured model, eg, Dukes of Hazard sherrif's car

Im looking at some "unusual" donor cars including a "funny car" dragster. Its a re-issue Conny Kalita, poss early 70's Mustang Boss. Would consider a normal Mustang boss, a new mustang OR the new-ish dodge challenger

The idea was to use dark/tinted windows, as there is no real interior to speak of.

Then paint the body black, add some accessories and police badges/decals, Ive seen a lot on ebay so could be a possibility, but we'll see.

I've used the Humbrol clear colours to tint windows on helicopters with no problems.
