Hi all,I just ordered a Letov s231 Biplane from a manufacturer I've never heard of ,KP . It was not a lot of money and I'm really into Czech history so I thought I'd take a gamble .They have more Czech stuff that I'd be interested in but never having heard of this company I'm a little hesitant .Has any one built a KP model and if so what did you think of the quality of the kit? Thanks for reading

Hi joe , Ive built a few KP kits , they arent bad if you know what to expect. They originally started making kits in the early 70's so some of their early efforts are typical of this era - raised panel lines , not much interior detail , raised rivets all over , "challenging" fit and not too hot transparencies. Saying that the finesse of their mouldings was very good , and with a bit of care and some basic additions can be made into decent models. Another plus point is that their choice of subjects was very interesting , a lot of aircraft that the western makers would never tool , so you got a lot of lovely soviet and czech stuff. The good thing too is that theyre usually quite cheap (unless we're talking about the 1/48 kits with resin and photo etch included ,these are excellent but quite expensive and are re-boxings of OEZ kits ) Heres a few ive done , the polikarpov po2 , yak 23 and their first ever release way back in 1970 -the Aero L29 Delfin , cheers tony
