Just a thought John. Presumably you've sent goods to these folks and therefore have an address. Wouldn't it be possible to get the local police to see who receives them?

That sucks. I hope you can get something back.

I don't see why you would feel guilty about posting and the offers were obviously genuine and well meaning from some nice and well meaning people. I'd do the same

I, like most people try to see the best in others, but sometimes that means we get bitten on the arse. Sadly there is some scum out there, thankfully it's a small minority.

So where did you send the order to. Local? overseas?

If it was local I would pay them a visit. With a Policeman naturally.

If a buyer can make a paypal claim if goods do not arrive, surly a seller can to if the money don't turn up.

              Hope you get it sorted.

It wasn't local it was London, but too far to go, I think I will ring the police tomorrow, they probably won't do anything but its worth a try.

All the police will do is give you this number to ring

0300 123 2040 it's the action fraud no , if you give them a ring they might be able to tell you what to do mate

I have been using PayPal for several purchases over the last year — its very convenient. But what worries me as well as this thread

is the there is such a huge limit on the amount that can be paid out in a day and in (a year I think). Hmmmm....

I never have any balance in my PayPall account (I don't receive any money). Each payment is taken from my credit card, so a felon would have to hack my PP account and read the numbers (or someone inside PP would be able to wreak havoc). Probably a low risk. Hmmm...

I have confidence in Paypal, this wasn't someone with a Paypal account it was someone using Paypal to process a card payment, I've added the tracking number which show's it's been sent and signed for, see what they do now

That's hard luck John...There are some real tos***s about. Just take whatever lesson there is to be learned from this and move on....but don't forget!

Up to my recent retirement, I had my own business for some 45 odd years and been bitten a few times. I've passed on my experiences to my son.....Never trust anybody, bit harsh but it works...usually.

I write 'Usually' because he was a victim recently. He went to a customer's for payment for a job and the customer insisted he pay in cash....When this happens, I always say to my son..."Count it in front of them."

He forgot and stopped down the road and counted it....it was quite a sum short. He went straight back and said it was not enough.....The customer denied it was so and told my son to leave......Tough, you may well think, but the customer was a very, very close family member......someone, of all people, you would have though trustworthy.

John, the vast majority of people are 100% honourable, but it takes just one wrong'un to upset the cart and it really hurts......

Oh yes, all payments cash or otherwise go into the bank and are accounted for...another golden rule of mine!

Spot on Steve. There are some nasty people out there. They will do anything to extract anything from good people. For me they are the absolute scum of society.

I just hate things which are not fairness in society & it makes me very very annoyed. People who can maim old people for their money etc they are just not human beings & should not reside amongst those who are caring people of this world. This all makes me very angry indeed.
