I like it here ......... It's informal, there is always someone to lend a hand and everybody, regardless of skill level or experience is putting there best effort into their builds and all on here appreciate that and offer their support and encouragement.

You've summed up everything I like about this site , I'm a comparable novice in terms of my builds but there is always someone with constructive critisisim to help out instead of just critisisim , I like that and I think it's the main reason I'm still building.

This is my modelling forum of choice for the very reasons above. People take their models seriously but not too seriously, which is important. It's a hobby and it should be fun. It shouldn't matter if you've been building for a week and are starting a fairly steep learning curve or thirty years, and here it really doesn't.

here are other places which I frequent which definitely take themselves a bit too seriously

        Cheers

        Steve

Love this forum, plenty of help & advice from people far more experienced than myself.

Friendly banter and a great assortment of subjects, not just the usual boats/planes/tanks!

Nothing at all wrong with latter, it's just I like to see contributors differing interests & skills.

Some would say I've been dead for a long while, but I have been here for an equally long while. Besides death is the end of one journey and the beginning of another.

I'm still here Wonwinglo (Barry) helped make this forum, he made many posts, was a real ambassador for modelling and was a good source of knowledge, but one day he just stopped coming, I emailed him and it took him a while to reply but from what I can gather he took up natural healing and his focus totally changed.
