A concoction of Coronation Street, EastEnders would drive me totally to distraction. She loves me being in MY room as she can then watch everything she likes and everything I hate. A very happy situation.

Totally agree Laurie exactly all the reasons why I migrated to the loft space in our house not the most pleasant spot as it's very cold this time of year I sit huddled around an electric heater with plenty of layers on and I can make as much mess as I like.I could make it better by spending a couple of hundred pounds and about a weeks work but keep putting it off as this is valuable modelling time and as I work spare time is at a premium. So my man cave is exactly that a cave!

That is a really good idea, and a good way of staying in touch with your clientele. Unfortunately the ever diminishing number of 'bricks and mortar' model shops in the UK tend to be quite small and packed to the rafters with kit boxes and other sundry items.

I was in one (which shall remain nameless) recently and when another customer came in, making a total of two, he and me, we couldn't manoeuvre around the shop without a polite 'excuse me' or two.

                        Cheers

It is a brilliant shop, up until a year ago they were in smaller premises with a de-facto one way system round the floor to ceiling stacks of stock. They are now in much bigger premises and experienced local modellers run Saturday Demonstrations.

The only downside is for my wallet, as I go past it every night on my way home from work.

As promised, here is the current configuration for Pocher building and a view of what is on the other side. When we first bought this house 15 years ago the entire lower level was unfinished and because it was an unfinished space with a concrete floor I laid claim to it and my wife was only too happy to cede the space to me. However, now that our youngest daughter has gone off to college she now wants one of her own; next door to mine, Argh! This room is 14' x 23' and the family room next to it is 15' x 25'. I think the proper term for my man cave is probably "wretched excess"! The first are when I was starting to build my Pocher Alfa and realzed there was just not enough desktop space- see the Alfa in the jig with all the paint bottle in the way. My solution, the three cabinet toolbox. Now all the paints and tools have been moved into the box and off the benchtop. Last pictures show the begining of the Pocher creep out on the floor and into the family room on the pool table and of course my Mercedes under construction with room to work
